airing the rottweiler
The dog is healthy if walks everyday. However with no matter how selflessly does the master walk with the dog, the one spends all his or herlife under the human feet. But even little place to walk independently makes the dog to feel freedom. Some experts advice to do not take the younger than 5monthage puppy to the streets, limiting the walks by the backyard. It helps to decrease the possibility of the infection and to completely immunize the dog. That's also recommended to accustom the dog to the leash in this period so that by the moment you take him or her to the street the dog would be ready to walk leashed not straining the leash. Do this carefully. Never tousle the puppy; except hurting the weak growing endings it also mean quickly and effectively teach him or her to persist.

Walks lasting and distances may be gradually increased up to 1,52 km in 24month age. Keep in mind that from 2month age it's the period of the individual features of shaping of puppy's highest nervous activity type. So thoroughly keep the puppy out of shock, especially of fright. You better walk first on the quiet, lonely streets, gradually accustoming the puppy to the variety of the outworld things.

The puppy grows and in 45 month age his or herphysical abilities are appreciably broadened. Regular walks and jogs for 23 km are necessary. Better accustom the puppy to water and bathing, gradually prolonging the distance so that by the end of summer the dog could swim 2530 meters. Swimming is a great exercise what makes to work all muscles, and most dogs like to swim.

Another amusement for most young dogs is fetching the balls and the sticks the master throws. Dogs can fetch endlessly. This is a good work-out for all groups of the muscles: due to the high movement activity of the fetching dog you may shorten the walk if the dog has sufficient exercising. This is especially important for walking in cold and wet weather, when there's a risk to have a cold so long walk is undesirable.

Walking you may make the puppy to jump over the ditches and hurdle (not higher than the puppy's breast level). Exercising the jumping, try to create the view of the game and take care of the dog's behavior. Seeing the fright, never violate or threaten. Since 5month age walk only by the streets, increasing the distance so that by the year-age the dog could walk 45 km at a good bat. Since 6 months you can increase the distance to 10 km. Try the running after the bicycle for 0,51 km distance, so the dog shall go at measured jogtrot.

Longer walks are recommended not earlier than in 910-month age for the breath and musculature training. For the intensive training better use the bicycle, the dog will fain follow. But don't start the intensive training earlier than a year. Define the workload by the dog's condition. M. McFale strongly recommends to avoid making jumping the rottweiler earlier the 1,5year age.

If the dog had been leading the confining life for a while and if owner wants to regain the dog's fitness, he or she is to raise the activity level step by step, avoiding the overworks. These dogs must get the exercises moderately, increasing gradually. One additional walk a day is good for the dog's tonus. In a bad weather better take special precaution. In a hot weather make the dog do the heavy exercises only in the fresh of early morning or late evening. Take care of cold fresh water for the dog to avoid the heatstroke. Note, that the heatstroke possibility is higher for the dogs with wide cranium, protruding forehead and short mug, as rottweiler is, so don't make him or her run or walk a lot in a hot wet weather. In a cold wet weather shorten the walk and thoroughly dry the hair after coming back. That's especially so for old dogs, which are more liable to become sick.
