The information, where Rottweiler puppies are available, can either be requested at the ADRK head office or be found in the monthly magazine «Der Rottweiler» where all the breedings within the ADRK are listed regularly.

Why to buy a Rottweiler of the ADRK

All the Rottweiler puppies of the ADRK come from controlled kennels. The ADRK uses breeding regulations which belong to the strictest within the VDH (German Kennel Club). These were established in favour of our breed and to protect the purchasers of puppies. Only a healthy breed ensures delight with and around our Rottweiler.

Attention!

Offers of Rottweilers in animal magazines or newspapers have to be dealed with care. In most of the cases they refer to Rottweilers out of not controlled kennels. Make sure that both parents passed a test for suitability for breeding (Zuchttauglichkeitspruefung) of the ADRK and take a look in the litter report which has to be signed by an ADRK breed warden.

Characteristic marks of the breed.

The object of the Rottweiler breeding is to establish a harmonic, solid, and strong companion, blind, security, working, and family dog, respectively. This dog has to be in accordance with the signs of the breed and shows the highest physic and psychical capability. Our breeders do not only want to reproduce the dog but also to preserve and stabilize its form and nature on a wide base.

Marks of a breed are defined in a list of traits and attributes, which is established by the responsible breeding club. Each dog should show these signs in the highest possible perfection in comparison to the ideal of this breed (breed standard). The club of this country, which is supposed to be the origin of the breed, is responsible for modifying and supplementing the breed standard. For the Rottweiler this club is the ADRK e.V.

All the other countries, as far as they are members of the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI), or are associated with the FCI, are bound to acknowledge the breed marks of the originating country, which guarantees a far-reaching conformity in breeding, judging and rating of the dogs.

The ADRK uses the following introducing phrase for the standard:
Rottweiler breeders aim at a dog of abundant strength, black coated with clearly defined rich tan markings, whose powerful appearance does not lack nobility and which is exceptionally well suited to be a companion, blind, security, working, and family dog.
